Soon IKN Will Have A Dam, Settlement Of Development Only 12 Percent

The progress of the construction of the Sepaku Semoi Dam to support clean water facilities at IKN Nusantara has reached 82 percent.

"The construction progress of the Sepaku Semoi Dam has reached 82 percent," said Head of the Task Force for the Implementation of IKN Infrastructure Development at the Ministry of PUPR, Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan on Friday, January 13, as quoted from Antara.

The Sepaku Semoi Dam will be one of the raw water sources for IKN Nusantara. The Sepaku Semoi Dam will be equipped with water treatment facilities and installations (IPA) and targeted for impressioning in June this year.

The construction of the Semoi football Dam is part of the IKN Nusantara development project.

Danis Hidayat explained, when he wanted to build an area, the most important thing was the availability of water. So the basic infrastructure of the dam is an important thing that needs to be built for the first time in the construction of IKN Nusantara.

When the dam is finished, he continued, it will distribute clean water to the IKN area and it can also function for irrigation, as well as as a tourism place.

Another benefit of the existence of this dam, said Danis Hidayat, is that it is able to flow 2,500 liters of raw water per second which is divided into 2,000 liters for IKN and 500 liters for Balikpapan, and is able to reduce flooding by 55.26 percent.

Another function of the existence of the dam which has a total land area of 378 hectares, he said, also has strategic and important value for IKN, namely being able to control flooding.

The implementation of the work that has been carried out so far includes inspection land work and public facilities, main dam piles, hydromechanicals, upstream bridge work, downstream bridge work, and regional fences.

The cost of building this dam reaches IDR 556 billion, sourced from APBN funds for the 2019-2023 Fiscal Year (TA) with the implementation period 2020-2023.
