SEMARANG - The Semarang District Attorney's Office (Kejari) helped BPJS Kesehatan collect arrears in membership contributions from seven business entities or companies in Semarang City during 2022.

Head of the State Civil and Administrative Section of the Semarang Kejari, Sarwanto, said the amount of the billable contributions reached Rp52.8 million from the target of Rp79.9 million.

However, Sarwanto did not specify the name of the company or the amount of the bill. So far, according to him, the company, which is in arrears in health BPJS contributions, is relatively cooperative when asked to pay off its arrears.

However, he continued, billing could not be maximized due to several influencing factors.

One of them, he said, was that the company had not been able to fulfill its arrears, it turned out that after being billed it was already in a closed condition due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Until now, he said, there has been no litigation of efforts to collect contributions against companies that are in arrears.

However, he continued, if there is no good faith or potential non-compliance from the company or business entity, then a lawsuit can be filed with the court.

He explained that the prosecutor's office acted as a state attorney for BPJS Kesehatan in filing a lawsuit.
