JAKARTA - VP Corporate Secretary of PT Jakarta Propertindo Syachrial Syarif talked about the opportunity for the Formula E race to be held at night or night race this year, namely on June 3 and 4, 2023. Syachrial said that the night race was just a discourse that just sparked after the implementation of Formula E in 2022. However, Jakpro has not discussed the opportunity for the night race. "The night race was triggered when it was just finished (Formula E 2022). However, it has not been discussed at all during the night event. We are still focused on organizing 3 and 4 (June 2023) during the day, the same as before," said Syachrial at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, January 12. On the one hand, Syachrial admits that the technical implementation of the night race is more difficult when compared to during the day. The consequences of safety aspects are also greater if the race is held at night. Not to mention, the cost of organizing it will swell because it must provide more lighting. "It might be good at night, but until today we haven't, we are still preparing the day. The consequences are big at night. The cost is definitely greater, lighting must be optimal, the consequences of lighting vary," explained Syachrial. Syachrial explained that Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E will still coordinate intensively with FEO as the license holder of Formula E regarding the preparation of the team that will be assigned to this electric car racing event. What is clear is that the format of the Jakarta E-Prix race is still in the brewing stage. What is clear is that the general form of the event is no different from the 2022 event. "The event format is still the same as last year," he said. At the Meet and Meet event with a Formula E driver in Jakarta on Thursday, June 2, 2022, the former Chairperson of the 2022 Formula E Organizing Committee, Ahmad Sahroni, said there were plans to hold a race at night in the following season. Sahroni believes the plan will definitely be approved by all riders. "Next year we hope there will be a night race. The driver will always agree," said Sahroni. "There is something interesting why I suggest next year's night race. Because we have photos at night and the view (Jakarta) is very good. As a person, I, as a Jakarta person, see it as fantastic. That's why I want the night race next year," said Sahroni. Meanwhile, the Chief Competition Officer of Formula E (E-Prix) welcomes the idea of holding a race at night in Jakarta next season.
