Waved Boats, Fishermen From Buton Sultra Found Selamat

The Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said fishermen were missing due to the boat used when fishing around the waters of Boneatiro, Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, when strong winds were found safe. The Coordinator of the Baubau SAR Post Susandy said the victim named Muhammad Rafli (23) was found by other fishermen who were fishing. "On Wednesday at around 21.25 WITA we received information from Bhabinkamtibmas Boneatiro who reported that at 21.15 WITA a fisherman was fishing to find the victim," he said in a written statement received in Kendari, Antara, Thursday, January 12. Susandy said the victim was found lying limp in Karang Tanjung Kapontori (Tanjung Componea) about 1 kilometer southwest of the location where the victim's boat was found. The victim was then evacuated to the victim's house in Boneatiro Village, Buton Regency. Rafli, who was in a weak condition and received medical treatment by officers from the Baruka Health Center. The victim was previously reported to have been out to sea since Tuesday at around 11.30 WITA about 1 nautical mile from Boneatiro Village towards Tanjung Kamponea to look for fish by long boats. But unfortunately, at around 12.00 WITA there was a strong wind around the waters and at 13.00 WITA after strong winds occurred the victim's boat was found by fishermen around Tanjung Kamponea. The fisherman then reported to the victim's family. The search has been carried out but with no results. So the incident was reported to the Kendari Basarnas by the Head of Boneatiro Village, Masrianto. Basarnas, who received the report, then dispatched a rescue team from the Baubau SAR Post to conduct a search operation for victims. The search for victims also involved rescue teams from the Baubau SAR Post, Kapontori Police, Kapontori Babinsa, Boneatiro Bhabinkamtibmas, Baubau PMI local communities and victims' families. "With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation is declared complete and closed, all elements involved are returned to their respective units," said Susandy.
