Pedestrians Died Of Motorcycle Collision When Crossing I Gusti Ngurah Rai Street

JAKARTA - A pedestrian was found dead tragically after being hit by a motorcyclist driving from Bekasi to Jatinegara. The accident occurred on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, near the Cipinang gas station, East Jakarta on Tuesday, January 10. The head of the Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas) for the East Jakarta area, AKBP Edy Surasa, confirmed the accident that happened to a pedestrian. "One victim. The victim who died was a pedestrian, had been taken to the RSCM," said AKBP Edy when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, January 10. AKBP Edy explained that the accident occurred when the motorcyclist was traveling from West to East, from Bekasi. "The incident was right near the Cipinang Muara gas station. There, suddenly someone appeared crossing the road," he said. At the time of the incident, the victim crossed from south to north.

"The pedestrian crossed it and cut it. When we crossed it, when the motorbike passed and was hit," he said. Meanwhile, the motorcyclist has been secured at the East Jakarta Traffic Unit for further processing. "We are still waiting for the victim's family. Earlier there was no definite identity, but information was still taken in the Satwil. Including the complete motorbike was taken to command. The perpetrators have been arrested first," he said.
