ACEH - A total of 184 Rohingya refugees who were stranded on the Gampong Baro coast area today have been temporarily placed in the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) Rumoh Seujahtera Beujroh Meukarya in Ladong Village, Raya Mosque District, Aceh Besar District.

Irwan explained that the Rohingya refugees were stranded in a beach area in the Greater Mosque District, which is part of the Banda Aceh City Resort Police (Polresta) jurisdiction.
He detailed that Rohingya refugees who were stranded in the Greater Mosque District consisted of 69 adult men, 75 adult women, 22 boys, and 18 girls.
According to Irwan, the handling of Rohingya refugees stranded in the area was carried out in coordination with immigration offices, disaster management agencies, social services, health services, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
"Re-data collection will be carried out by the immigration authorities, then for health services and others will be managed by IOM, UNHCR, and the health office," he said.
Irwan said that Rohingya refugees who have been stranded in the Aceh Besar area so far are mostly in good health. There is only one pregnant woman and four people whose bodies are weak who need medical services.
"We have coordinated with the puskesmas doctor, and (the doctor) will come here to check the initial health of the refugees," he said.
UPTD Rumoh Seujahtera Beujroh Meukarya in Ladong Village currently accommodates 57 Rohingya refugees who were stranded in the Aceh area on December 25, 2022. With the addition of 184 refugees today, the total social facilities will accommodate 241 Rohingya refugees.
