PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto reacted to the statement by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which revealed that Harun Masiku was currently abroad. Hasto was reluctant to comment much regarding the existence of the former PDIP legislative candidate. It could be, said Hasto, that the KPK would later find Harun Masiku. Given, Indonesia has quite good international cooperation. "Yes, I'll just ask him (KPK) where he (Harun Masiku) is. We have excellent international cooperation. Especially if it's abroad, the data collection system, the fast check system," said Hasto when met in the Central Jakarta area, Sunday, January 8. The KPK said the whereabouts of former fugitive candidate Harun Masiku began to be detected. He is said to be abroad. "It's abroad," said KPK Director of Investigation Asep Guntur at the KPK Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 5. Asep did not specify which country Harun was hiding. However, the KPK has coordinated with agencies from abroad. The KPK also does not want to talk much about Harun's search. They must maintain confidentiality so that the fugitive does not run anymore. "The information we received was like that (still abroad, ed)," he said. The KPK has named Harun Masiku as a suspect in giving bribes to KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan since January 2020. This bribery was carried out so that he could get an easy seat as a member of the DPR through interim shifts or PAW. Harun's escape began when the KPK conducted a hand arrest operation regarding this case on January 8, 2020. During the silent operation, the KPK named four suspects, namely Harun Masiku, Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelina, and Saeful Bahri. However, Harun, who was not caught by OTT, is unknown. He reportedly fled to Singapore and is said to have returned to Indonesia. Apart from Harun, there are actually three other fugitives who have not been arrested. They are Izil Azhar who has been fugitive since 2018; Kirana Kotama who has been fugitive since 2017; and Ricky Ham Pagawak who is the Regent of Central Mamberamo.
