JAKARTA - Formula E racing event in Jakarta is certain to continue this year. After the implementation of Formula E last year, the committee had made a discourse on the continuation of this year's race which will be held at night. Will the night race Formula E materialize? VP Corporate Secretary of PT Jakarta Propertindo Syachrial Syarif admitted that he could not confirm it. "The discourse of a night race is still under study. Meanwhile, we cannot convey this," said Syachrial in a short message, Friday, January 6. Syachrial was only able to reveal that the Formula E Operation (FEO) had included the implementation schedule in Jakarta on June 3 and 4, 2023 in its race calendar. "2023 is included in the FEO race calendar which was officially announced through its web. The event will be held for 2 days, tentatively, 3 and 4 June," he said. Now, Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E is still coordinating intensively with FEO as the license holder of Formula E regarding the preparation of the team that will be assigned to this electric car racing event. In addition, the format of the Jakarta E-Prix racing event and concept is still in the brewing stage. Likewise with sponsorship candidates who will participate in this year's race. "Jakpro again hopes for the support of all parties so that the global campaign sustainability can run smoothly," said Syachrial. Previously, the Chairperson of the Jakarta Formula E Implementing Committee in 2022, Ahmad Sahroni, said that there were plans to hold a race at night the following season. This was conveyed by Sahroni at the Meet and Meet event with Formula E drivers in Jakarta on Thursday, June 2, 2022. He believes the plan will definitely be approved by all riders. "Next year we hope there will be a night race. The driver will always agree," said Sahroni. Sahroni said that he and his team wanted the plan to be realized so that other people who enjoyed racing from the screen could enjoy the beauty of Jakarta at night. "There is something interesting why I suggest next year's night race. Because we have photos at night and the view (Jakarta) is very good. As a person, I, as a Jakarta person, see it as fantastic. That's why I want the night race next year," said Sahroni. Meanwhile, the Chief Competition Officer of Formula E (E-Prix) welcomes the idea of holding a race at night in Jakarta next season.
