Good News For The Head Of RT/RW In Palembang, Get Ready To Up Incentives

JAKARTA - The Palembang City Government is reviewing the incentive value of the Neighborhood Association Chair and the Head of the Citizens Association (RT/RW) so that they can increase. The numbers that are now considered irrelevant.

"After the plenary meeting of the Palembang City DPRD, we will review the incentives for this RT/RW, I think it is currently irrelevant considering that the prices of basic necessities have increased due to the impact of the increase in fuel oil prices (BBM)," said Deputy Mayor of Palembang Fitrianti Agustinda in Palembang, Wednesday, January 4.

The increase in incentives needs to be done because the RT/RW task is not much different from the regional head and they are also at the forefront of community service.

"The Palembang City Government needs to adjust the Palembang City APBD and PAD to increase the RT/RW incentives. With this increase in incentives, it is hoped that public services will be even better," he said as quoted by Antara.

He stated, based on the latest data, the number of RT and RW heads in Palembang City is 5,000 people and the incentive is given at Rp600 thousand per quarter or every three months.

In addition, according to him, the Palembang City Government will provide facilities for the Employment Social Security Administering Body (BPJS) program for the Head of RT/RW.

He said as many as 5,000 RT/RW would be facilitated with the BPJS Employment program because they are at the forefront of the Palembang City Government in community service.

"Actually, we have wanted to do this for a long time, but we have faced many obstacles, considering that there is a COVID-19 pandemic, so we focus on overcoming it first," said Fitri.
