Obtained 2,000 M Of Land From The NTB Provincial Government, 15 Families Affected By Abrasi In Mataram Will Be Relocated To Huntara

A total of 15 families (KK) in Mapak Indah, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), whose houses collapsed due to beach abrasion will get temporary housing (huntara) as a relocation place.

Mataram Mayor H Mohan Roliskana said the shelter would be built by the Mataram City Government (Pemkot) over 2,000 square meters of land belonging to the NTB Provincial Government.

"We are grateful to the provincial government for providing relocation land for Mapak Indah residents whose houses were affected by abrasion due to extreme weather, and now they still live in their closest family home," he said in Mataram, NTB, Wednesday, January 4, as reported by Antara.

Mohan conveyed that with the availability of the relocation land provided, the Mataram City Government could not propose the construction of a simple rental flat (rusunawa).

Because the need for land for one "twin block" with a physical shape of three floors, 44 type 36 rooms is needed at around 4,500 square meters.

Therefore, with the land provided by the NTB Provincial Government covering an area of 2,000 square meters to create a shelter using unexpected funds for disaster emergency handling.

"The implementation of the construction of shelters will soon be prepared by technical regional apparatus organizations (OPD), from the PUPR, BPBD, and other related OPD offices," he said.

It's just that, he continued, relocating residents to shelters is a temporary solution. Therefore, the Mataram City Government will again coordinate with the NTB Provincial Government regarding the possibility of land acquisition, so that the Mataram City Government can propose for the construction of a flat as a permanent solution.

The reason is, apart from the 15 families affected by abrasion, there are still dozens of families who have the potential to be threatened by this natural disaster every year because they live in the coastal border.

"However, if only for the relocation of residents affected by the current abrasion, 2,000 square meters of land provided by the provincial government is sufficient," he said.
