"This happened in July 2022 involving 45 pilgrims who could be considered deceived by the executor of the Hajj who did not have legality," said Ibrahim at the West Java Regional Police, Bandung City, Antara, Wednesday, January 4. According to him, the case began with victims who came to the West Java Regional Police in the period July 2022. Then the report was made in August 2022. Meanwhile, the Director of Special Crimes at the West Java Police, Kombes Arif Rachman, said that RMY is a specialist in document falsification. Because, he said, RMY used a tourist visa from Malaysia to Saudi Arabia, then it was converted into a Hajj visa for prospective pilgrims of the Furoda Hajj. However, the Saudi Arabian government can detect this because the visa used by the victims is not valid so it is deported. To attract RMY hajj candidates to visit a number of recitations in various regions. Based on the investigation, he said, the travel company managed by RMY does not have a Special Hajj Organizer (PIHK) permit from the Ministry of Religion. According to him, the address of PT Alfatih is in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, but the location is fictitious. "RMY assured prospective pilgrims that he could provide VIP facilities, three Hajj rituals, and various Hajj facilities, including taking pilgrimages without queuing," said Arif. After the prospective hajj was deported, RMY promised to return the costs paid by the congregation. However, he said, until early 2023 there had been no attempt to recover the loss money. So far, he explained, RMY as the sole suspect because the employees at the Travel Haji Furoda company were not involved. As a result of his actions, Arif said RMY was charged with Article 121 of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the pilgrimage and Umrah. Meanwhile, RMY was threatened with a sentence of six years in prison and a fine of Rp. 6 billion.
