JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat encouraged ministers from the NasDem Party to resign from their positions. According to him, it was the best choice in the midst of a cabinet reshuffle issue.

"If it is really gentle like that, it would be better, for the ministers it is better to resign. It is more gentle," Djarot told reporters, Tuesday, January 3.

Djarot assessed that the ministers of the NasDem Party were starting to not match the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s government. This is considered to be disrupting the national program that has been launched.

Not only that, the performance of these ministers is also questioned. One of them, the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who he considered had failed to carry out his duties.

From the DPR Commission IV assessment, Syahrul deserves to be evaluated because the food estate program failed in several places and rice imports were still available. In fact, the government is trying to achieve food self-sufficiency.

As is known, the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet is filled by three ministers from the NasDem Party. They are Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya, and Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate.

Previously, Djarot also mentioned that two ministers from the NasDem Party should be evaluated amidst the issue of cabinet reshuffle.

Elite Partai NasDem Irma Suryani Chaniago did not accept the PDIP politician's statement. Irma emphasized President Jokowi's reshuffle of prerogatives.

Meanwhile, regarding this issue, President Jokowi did not say much. For the time being, Jokowi asked all parties to wait for the possibility of a reshuffle in early 2023. This possibility was conveyed by Jokowi on December 23, 2022.

"Yes, just wait," said Jokowi briefly at Tanah Abang Market, Jakarta, Monday, January 2.
