JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono gathered the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government in a leadership meeting to discuss planning the construction of a giant embankment on the coast of Jakarta in the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) project.
Heru held this leadership meeting (rapim) after receiving a receipt from President Joko Widodo, who some time ago highlighted the issue of Giant Sea Wall.
"Rapim today discussed the NCICD stage, planning spatial planning with Bappeda," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, January 3.
In the meeting, Heru asked for an explanation from the ranks of the DKI Water Resources Service, the DKI Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), and the Assistants of the DKI Regional Secretary to describe the work of NCICD.
NCICD is an integrated control wall project and a water reservoir built with the aim of reducing the impact of flooding in Jakarta. NCICD is the development of Giant Sea Wall, a marine embankment construction project highlighted by Jokowi.

Heru admitted that he would make a decision regarding the acceleration of NCICD development after it was completed, and reported the results to the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).

On Friday, December 23, President Jokowi reminded that the construction of the Giant Sea Wall must be continued immediately to reduce the impact of Jakarta's floods, especially tidal flooding.
