The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that the emergency aid logistics stock due to natural disasters in Central Lombok Regency is still safe for the next three months.

"Our logistics stock still exists," said Head of Central Lombok BPBD M. Ridwan Ma'ruf in Praya, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Monday, January 2.

The existing emergency logistics stock includes rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, ready-to-eat food. Material logistics are also still available to help residents affected by the disaster.

"Emergency logistical assistance was immediately provided as soon as natural disasters occurred," he said, quoted by Antara.

He said that material logistics to help residents whose houses were damaged by the disaster could not be carried out directly, but had to wait for the damage assessment.

"After the assessment, material assistance can only be given," he said.

Ridwan said Central Lombok Regency had been declared a disaster alert status until March 2023. This was done after natural disasters, such as floods, landslides and fallen trees, at the end of 2022.

"We have determined the disaster alert status," he said.

Previously, the Central Lombok Regency Government formed a disaster management task force in response to extreme weather conditions that caused floods, landslides, and fallen trees in the local area.

"This task force is a collaboration from the OPD (Regional Apparatus Organization) related in handling the impact of natural disasters that occur," said Deputy Regent of Central Lombok M. Nursiah after an evaluation meeting with BPBD Central Lombok, on December 26, 2022.

With this task force, it is hoped that the inter-OPD synergy can be improved, so that it does not overlap in anticipation of natural disasters.

"To achieve good performance in handling this disaster, we need to improve coordination management, so that inter-agency performance can be integrated and neater," he said.
