The Occupancy Of The Hotel In Madiun Achieves 90 Percent Ahead Of The Substitution Of The Year Towards 2023

JAKARTA - Madiun Mayor Maidi stated that the occupancy rate of rooms or occupancy in hotels in the region experienced a significant increase ahead of the 2022 end of the holiday towards the 2023 New Year which reached 90 percent.

"This is an extraordinary visit. Madiun City has spread its traffic and thank God all hotels are full," said Mayor Maidi in Madiun, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 31.

He assessed that the massive development carried out by the Madiun City Government in developing the concept of "urban tourism" or city tourism in the local area had an impact on the increase in tourist visits in Madiun City, which of course also had an impact on hotel occupancy rates.

As is known, the Madiun City Government has built an area of "Pahlawan Street Center" (PSC) with Taman Sumber Wangi and Taman Sumber Umis which includes miniatures of the Lion Statue of fire, the Kaaba of Mecca, and a miniature of the Eiffel Tower.

Recently, the Madiun City Government has just inaugurated a culinary tourist spot with the train nuances named "Bogowonto Culinary Center" (BCC). The BCC was developed in the former railroad area (KA) of the Madiun-Ponorogo relation which has not been operating for a long time.

The culinary tourism location is predicted to be a new destination when tourists are in the Municipal City, nicknamed Madiun City.

General Manager of Aston Madiun Hotel and Conference Center Mira Kiranasi said room occupancy rates in Aston during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays reached 90 percent.

"A number of rooms have been booked a few days before Christmas Eve. Those who order are tourists from outside the area who want to enjoy Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve in Madiun City," said Mira Kiranasi.

According to him, the high occupancy of the hotel was a positive impact of the construction of a number of artificial tourist sites in Madiun City.

He assessed that the increase in hotel room occupancy was the same as the conditions before the COVID-19 pandemic. There is even a higher trend compared to the Christmas and New Year holidays before the pandemic.

"It is very recognized that there has been a change in Madiun City, it is quite interesting for out-of-town residents to skip holidays in the Madiun City area. This has helped drive the economic and tourism sectors in Madiun City," he added.

Responding to the increase in room reservations, he continued, the hotel had made more preparations than before. Starting from the provision of clean and comfortable rooms, as well as friendly and warm hotel services.

Data from the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Madiun City, currently there are 28 members of PHRI in the local city. In detail, there are 22 hotels, both star and non-star, as well as six restaurants.
