Weather Still Extreme, Central Lombok No New Year's Entertainment

LombOK - Deputy Regent of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, HM Nursiah said the local government did not carry out entertainment activities to welcome the turn of New Year's Eve 2023.

"There are no entertainment activities on New Year's Eve," said Nursiah, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 31.

For people who will carry out New Year's Eve, it is hoped that they will carry out activities with their families.

"Acara di rumah masing-masing," katanya.

Head of Protocol and Communication Section for Central Lombok Leadership, Lalu Muh Saleh, said the local government did not carry out special events in order to welcome the 2023 New Year.

"A few nights ago I asked the Regent directly, whether there would be an event to welcome the 2023 New Year, the Regent said no," he said.

He said that the postponement of the New Year's welcoming event could not be separated from the current extreme weather conditions. Even in some areas, Central Lombok Regency also experienced flooding.

The Central Lombok government is still focused on overcoming the impact of the weather which is quite extreme. So it is not appropriate if we hold entertainment events, while some of our residents are affected by disasters such as floods," he said.

However, even though there is no special event held by the Central Lombok Regency Government in welcoming the New Year 2023, the public can take part in the welcoming Sholawat Akbar which was held by the Jamaah Hubbun Nabi Central Lombok at the Great Praya Mosque.

"The event will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, from 18.00 WITA. For people who have the opportunity, please come together to pray at the Great Mosque of Praya," said Lalu Muh Saleh.
