High Rainfall, Three Villages In Kudus Regency Soak Water

JAKARTA - Flood disasters hit three villages in Kudus Regency, Central Java, following high rainfall, resulting in dozens of houses being flooded with varying heights.

"Three villages that were hit by floods were spread across two sub-districts, namely Kaliwungu District, which occurred in Setrokalangan Village, while Jati District occurred in Jati Wetan and Jati Kulon villages," said Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Kudus Munaji, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 31.

Floods began on Friday, December 30 at 12.00 WIB, while no one has fled residents affected by the flood.

He revealed that the villages that were hit by the flood were in Setrokalangan Village (Kaliwungu District), Jati Wetan Village and Jati Kulon Village (Jati District).

The height of the flood inundation, he said, was that Jati Kulon and Setrokalangan villages had indeed decreased, while in Jati Wetan Village it was still the same, there had been no decline.

"The condition of the inundation is of course to see the rainfall, whether the intensity decreases or remains," he said.

Meanwhile, there were 45 houses affected by the flood in Setrokalangan Village, while there were five houses inundated. Meanwhile, in Jati Wetan Village, there were 650 families affected and 70 of them were flooded and in Jati Kulon Village there were 90 families affected, while there were 40 families inundated houses.

Kaliwungu Sub-district Head Satria Agus Himawan confirmed that the area was starting to be hit by floods, especially in Setrokalangan Village, because apart from submerging road access, there were also five houses that began to be flooded with a height of about 20 centimeters.
