"I ask allies to do more. The interests of our security are all to ensure Ukraine wins and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin does not win," Stoltenberg told German news agency DPA.
He further said that Ukraine may be more important in receiving enough ammunition for the existing system, adding the need for ammunition and "very large" parts.
Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a speech to Western leaders, called on various weapons and air defense systems to help efforts to counter Russia's invasion.
Later, the United States last week announced nearly $2 billion in additional military aid, including the Patriot Air Defense System, which offers protection against aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles.
Stoltenberg told the DPA that military support for Ukraine was the fastest way to peace.
"We know that most of the war ended at the negotiating table - maybe this war too - but we know that what Ukraine can achieve in these negotiations relies heavily on the military situation," he explained.
