The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Will Descend The Mount Search For Evidence Of Alleged Misappropriation Of Earthquake Assistance In Cianjur

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will proactively investigate reports of alleged misappropriation of aid for victims of the Cianjur earthquake, West Java. They will look for evidence related to the report that dragged the name of Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman.

"We are not passive, of course, we are active in finding this information as part of the verification material for the public complaint report," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, 28 Wednesday.

One of the evidence search processes, said Ali, was carried out by calling the reporter. The verification team will confirm a number of documents submitted.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission appreciates the people who have reported the allegation. The complaint interpreted awareness about the dangers of corruption in Indonesia as high.

"KPK appreciates the public reporting every complaint, reports of alleged corruption to the KPK as part of the participation of the community in efforts to eradicate corruption," said Ali.

Previously, the KPK received complaints of alleged misappropriation of earthquake victims in Cianjur Regency from the Acsenahumanis Response Foundation group.

They received information about the misuse of aid from the Red Crescent Emirates by Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman. The international institution is said to have provided 2,000 blankets, 25 tons of rice, a thousand cleaning packages, and 500 lights for earthquake victims.

"What was previously a donation from an international institution was changed to a party and sold to the market," said a representative from the Acsenahumanis Response Foundation.

"This means that the Regent uses his authority to cut the distribution of aid, as well as package the aid in other forms and sell it to the market," he continued.
