ASN DKI Provincial Government May WFH During The Prosperous Rain Potential Tomorrow, But Not For People

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono opens the opportunity to implement a work from home (WFH) system to the ranks of ASN DKI Provincial Government tomorrow.

This follows up on information regarding anticipating the potential for extreme weather on Wednesday, December 28 tomorrow, in the form of extreme rain and catastrophic storms that could cause major flooding in the Jabodetabek area.

However, the implementation of this WFH cannot be applied to all employees. Heru said, ASN who work in direct services to the community still have to work from their respective offices.

"ASNs who are for direct services cannot. But those who are not direct, maybe each (regional apparatus organization) will think about that," said Heru at DKI City Hall, Tuesday, December 27.

However, Heru still sees the weather conditions tomorrow. If tomorrow the weather is quite sunny and light rain, the implementation of WFH for ASN is canceled.

"So far it's still sloping, please come in," said Heru.

The head of the Presidential Secretariat also appealed to private companies in Jakarta to also implement WFH towards the end of this year to their employees.

It is hoped that the large number of WFH employees in Jakarta can avoid congestion that often occurs after heavy rains and causes inundation.

"Later, maybe on December 30 to 2, we will appeal to the partial (January 2023). If there was a disaster, it could go through PPID, explain, condition each private employee to be able to WFH avoid congestion, disasters, waste, and others," said Heru.

Even so, Heru left this decision to each company leader. "We leave it to each other," he continued.

Previously, a researcher from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) revealed that there is the potential for large floods in the Jabodetabek area starting Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

"The potential for large flooding in Jabodetabek. Whoever you live in Jabodetabek, and especially Tangerang or Banten, please prepare for extreme rain and catastrophic storms on December 28, 2022," said Climatology Researcher, at the Center for Climate Research, and Atmosfir BRIN, Erma Yulihastin, in his Twitter account.
