JAKARTA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov issued an ultimatum against Ukraine, with Moscow's proposal of Kyiv-controlled demilitarization and denazification of land and the removal of security threats must be accepted with a 'peaceful way' or the Russian military will deal with this issue.

"The enemy is well aware of our proposals on demilitarized and denazified regime-controlled territory (Kyiv), removing threats against Russian security coming from there and that includes our new territory (DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia areas)," said Foreign Minister Lavrov, launching TASS December 27.

"There is little to be done, accepting this proposal in a friendly manner. Otherwise, the Russian Army will address this issue," he stressed.

"Regarding the possibility of continuing the conflict, the ball is on the side of the regime (Kyiv) and Washington, which stands behind it. They can end this unreasonable resistance at any time," said Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Meanwhile citing Reuters, Lavrov's Foreign Minister's statement was delivered a day after President Vladimir Putin said he was open to talks. Kyiv and his Western allies had rejected Putin's offer to speak, but his troops hit Ukrainian cities with missiles and rockets.

Not only that, Moscow continues to demand that Kyiv recognize his conquest of a fifth of the country. Meanwhile, Kyiv said he would fight until Russia withdrew.

President Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine on February 24, calling it a "special operation" for Ukraine's "denazification" and demilitarization, which he said posed a threat to Russia. Meanwhile, Kyiv and West said Putin's invasion was merely the confiscation of imperialist lands.
