Christmas Holiday, 27,800 Compact Visitors To The Ancol Tourism Area

JAKARTA - Head of Communications Company PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk Ariyadi Eko Nugroho said the number of visitors to the Ancol Tourism Area had reached 27.800 on Christmas Day 2022 until 11.00 WIB.

"Until 11.00 WIB, we recorded that visitors had reached 27.800," said Eko, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 25.

On D-1 Christmas Day, Saturday, December 24, the Ancol Tourism Area was recorded to be visited by 42,000 tourists.

Eko said this number had almost doubled compared to the average visit on the usual weekend which only reached 25,000 to 30,000 visitors.

The majority or about 60 to 70 percent of tourists who come to Ancol do recreation to the beach, while the rest of the visitors enjoy various available rides such as Dunia Fantasi (Dufan), Ocean Dream Samudra, Atlantis Water Adventures, Sea World Ancol, Allianz Ecopark, Pasar Seni Ancol, and Jakarta Bird Land.

To anticipate the boom in tourist visits during the Christmas and New Year 2023 holidays, his party is working with the Indonesian Police, the Indonesian National Army (TNI), and the Civil Service Police Unit to ensure security is maintained.

"We are also still following the rules for the Implementation of Level 1 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). Visitors to rides in the Ancol area are required to buy tickets one week before the day of visit, wear masks, scan PeduliLindungi, and we ensure the alertness of the officers' units," he said.

Meanwhile, from January 1 to September 2022, Ancol visitors were recorded at 5.3 million, an increase of 148 percent compared to the previous year's 2.1 million visitors, supported by the control of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
