Bekasi City Government Appreciates Security For Christmas 2022

JAKARTA - The Bekasi City Government, West Java, appreciates all security officers for the 2022 Christmas Day who have worked extra with full responsibility to protect the region so that the series of religious holidays will take place conducively.

"This extra security is part of the close ties of brotherhood between religious communities, plus high tolerance," said Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto in Bekasi, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 25.

He is optimistic that the momentum of the 2022 Christmas Day can continue to foster a sense of security, peace and joy for all Bekasi City people, especially Christians who are celebrating.

"Hopefully Christmas 2022 will be able to make people on earth continue to maintain tolerance and uphold their respective beliefs and continue to foster love and joy for the people of Bekasi City," he said.

According to him, security officers in the church area consisting of joint TNI/Polri personnel, Satpol PP and related regional apparatus, as well as elements of the community have proven capable of carrying out their duties with full responsibility and sincerity.

"The highest appreciation to all Christmas and New Year security officers. Totality in working is extraordinary," he said.

Tri together with elements of the regional leadership communication forum also visited a number of churches to see firsthand the series of Christmas services while ensuring the smooth implementation of the activity in question.

Some of the locations he visited included the North Clara Church, the Khatolik Church ST. Albertus and the ST. Arnoldus Church. The implementation of worship at these locations was orderly, safe, smooth, and solemn.

The church congregation in each place of worship was seen carrying out worship calmly and feeling safe and comfortable because they knew there was layered security from security officers.

Tri even said that this security task is part of the efforts of the Bekasi City Government to maintain tolerance among religious believers when carrying out worship in accordance with their respective beliefs.

"All the churches we visited were very conducive, the church congregation also expressed their deep gratitude for the presence of this security officer," he said.
