Betawi Culturalist Ridwan Saidi Dies At The Age Of 80

TANGERANG - Betawi culturalist Ridwan Saidi passed away on Sunday, December 25.

The sad news was revealed by the Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Fadli Zon, through his Twitter account.

"Goodbye Bg Ridwan Saidi...," wrote Fadli Zon.

"Innalillahi wainnailaihi raajiun. The news from his sons and daughters Bang Ridwan Saidi passed away this morning at 08.35 WIB at RSPI Bintaro. God willing, Husnul Khotimah. Bang RS seorg is an extraordinary discussion friend, insight and experience is broad. al Fatihah," he continued.

Previously, it was reported that Ridwan Saidi was reportedly being treated at the Bintaro Hospital. The news was shared by Gerindra Party politician, Fadli Zon.

"I just communicated with (with) Ridwan Saidi's son this morning at 06.00, he said a blood vessel burst. He was taken to the Bintaro RSPI," said Fadli Zon in his tweet, Friday, December 23.

As is known, Ridwan Saidi is known as a Betawi Culturalist and an Islamic intellectual.

In addition, Babe Ridwan, as soon as he was called, was a former member of the DPR in the United Development Party (PPP) in 1977-1987.

Before entering politics, Ridwan Saidi was listed as a graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Indonesia.

The man who is currently 80 years old has also served as General Chair of the Islamic Student Association from 1974 to 1976.
