JAKARTA - Heavy rains in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province caused floods to landslides on Friday, December 24 evening. The Karanganyar Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that one resident died as a result of being buried by the landslide.

"This condition caused a number of residents' houses to be flooded. BPBD noted 53 families whose houses were flooded with a water level of 70-100 cm," said Abdul Muhari.

The Karanganyar Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) together with other related elements have made emergency efforts at the disaster site. "BNPB urges local governments and residents to increase vigilance and preparedness in dealing with wet hydrometeorological hazards, such as floods, flash floods and landslides," he said.
