East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar said the findings were the result of an examination of food samples from a number of supermarkets in the Klender area, Duren Sawit District.

Anwar added that the examination of the food sample involved the East Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Sub-Department (KPKP) and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

In addition to food products, the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) also conducted an examination of a number of food commodities.
"There are three food commodities that have been tested, namely agricultural commodities, fisheries commodities and livestock commodities," said Anwar.
Anwar explained that the agricultural commodities carried out by the content test consisted of eight samples, namely oranges, apples, wines, chilies, shallots, spinach, kale and mustard.
Meanwhile, samples of fishery commodities examined came from squid, black bawarl, shrimp, processed fish baso and livestock commodities consisting of samples of chicken and beef.
Based on these findings, the East Jakarta City Government has given a warning to the supermarket manager and immediately destroyed expired food products.
