Komnas PA Desak Polres Jaksel Perpetrators KDRT Former OVO Employees At The Signature Park Tebet Apartment

JAKARTA - The National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA) has responded to cases of domestic violence (KDRT) against children that occurred in the Tebet area, South Jakarta. If proven, Komnas PA asked the police to immediately arrest the parents of the perpetrators of the abuse.

The head of the National Commission for Child Protection, Arist Merdeka Sirait, said that his party had watched a viral video showing the violence of parents against children. Komnas PA has also contacted the mother and child who are victims of physical and psychological violence.

"If there is evidence as reported by his mother, there is a video, there is a beating, there are screams of domestic violence happening, there is no reason to immediately arrest and detain the victim's father," Arist Merdeka told reporters, Thursday, December 22.

Violence against children has a broad impact on children's psychology. Moreover, the incident was repeated in front of the victim's mother.

"This is a form of violence that causes children to be traumatized. This treatment that should not be tolerated is a form of violence," he said.

Arist Merdeka urged the Police to immediately identify the suspect against the perpetrator. This Thursday afternoon, continued Arist, the victim's mother will bring her child for an interview so that it becomes detailed as a form of supporting report.

"So that the National Commission for Child Protection can enter to provide support to mothers as victims and children as victims and their fathers who are declared to have been said to have been the perpetrators. We will encourage the South Jakarta Police not to hesitate to immediately detain parents from victims," he said.

Previously, the South Jakarta Metro Police continued to investigate cases of Domestic Violence (KDRT) allegedly committed by RIS against two of his biological children aged 10 years and 12 years.
