Take Care Of Local Wisdom, The City Government Asks Banda Acehnese Citizens Not To Heboh Raya Events To Change Years

The Banda Aceh Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) appealed to the public not to celebrate New Year's Eve 2023 by burning firecrackers or other fun activities.

"This is intended to maintain local wisdom and ensure public peace is maintained," said Acting (Pj) Banda Aceh Mayor Bakri Siddiq, in Banda Aceh, Wednesday, December 21.

This was conveyed by Bakri Siddiq after chairing a coordination meeting with Forkopimda Banda Aceh in the context of securing Christmas and New Year in Banda Aceh.

Bakri menyampaikan, meskipun sebagian besar warga di ibu kota provinsi Aceh itu tidak merayakan Natal dan Tahun Baru, Forkopimda Banda Aceh tetap melakukan pengamanan.

"Security is still being carried out to create a conducive atmosphere and avoid unwanted things," said Bakri Siddiq.

Meanwhile, the Head of Ops for the Banda Aceh Police, Kompol Iswahyudi, said that his party would prepare hundreds of personnel to provide security ahead of Christmas and New Year.

Banda Aceh will also hold an operation codenamed Operation Candle Seulawah 2022 by placing personnel at several points in Banda Aceh.

"This operation will be held simultaneously from December 22, 2022, to January 2, 2023," he said.

Iswahyudi said, his party will also immediately hold a service and security post stationed at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (SIM) Blang Bintang and Ulee Lheue crossing port.

"Since the end of this year coincides with the school holiday season, we will also place service and security posts at these two points to serve tourists visiting Banda Aceh," said Iswahyudi.

In addition to police personnel, security ahead of Christmas and New Year will also involve joint personnel consisting of 50 TNI personnel from Kodim 0101/KBA, 150 Satpol PP/WH Banda Aceh personnel, and 120 members from the Banda Aceh Transportation Service to ensure smooth traffic flow on New Year's Eve.
