JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) condemned the acts of violence committed by former OVO employees, the initials RIS against his own biological child at the Signature Park Apartment on Jalan Letjen MT Haryono Kav. 22-23 Tebet, South Jakarta.

On that basis, KPAI Commissioner Retno Listyarti asked the police to increase the sentence of the alleged perpetrator. The goal is that the incident does not repeat itself and remind parents not to commit violence under the pretext of educating or disciplining children.

It is known that this case is being handled by the police with a police report numbered LP/B/2301/IX/2022/SPKT/PolresMetro South Jakarta/PoldaMetroJaya on September 23, 2022.

Articles that are suspected of being reported to the reported regarding violence against children and domestic violence as well as unpleasant acts with violence, namely Article 76C Jo 80 of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection Jo 44 of Law No. 23 of 2004 and Jo Article 335 of the Criminal Code regarding the abolition of domestic violence.

"The crime is added by a third in the provisions of the Child Protection Law if the perpetrators of violence are the closest people to the victim, such as parents, teachers, and others," said Retno in her statement, Wednesday, December 21.

Retno said she would oversee cases of child abuse committed by her own father until the trial. This is a form of the main task of his institution in protecting children in Indonesia.

"KPAI will oversee it by supervising the process of this case until it is tried," he concluded.
