Outside The Faction Room In The East Java DPRD, The KPK Finds Evidence Of Bribes In The Management Of Grant Funds

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found evidence of bribery in the management of grant funds that ensnared Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua, P. Simandjuntak. This finding was obtained when investigators conducted a search on Tuesday, December 20 yesterday.

"For the location, it is still in the East Java DPRD Building and is focused on several faction workspaces," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, December 21.

Ali said there were various documents found during the search. The analysis will be carried out because the findings are suspected of making light of the bribery case being handled by the KPK.

After being analyzed, the evidence will be confiscated. "Later, it will be confirmed to the parties who will soon be summoned as witnesses," he said.

Previously, Sahat was named a suspect along with three other people. They are the expert staff, Rusdi; Abdul Hamid who is the Head of Jelgung Village, Robatal District, Sampang Regency who is also the Coordinator of the Community Group; and Ilham Wahyudi alias Eeng who is the Coordinator of Pokmas Field.

The determination of Sahat and three other suspects was made after they were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday, December 14. This action is based on information from the public who know about the handover of money related to the management of the allocation of grant funds.

The KPK said Sahat allegedly offered assistance to facilitate the proposed grant funds, which totaled Rp7.8 trillion. This provision is intended for bodies, institutions, community organizations in the East Java Provincial Government.

Sahat received from 2021 and continued until 2022 and then agreed to help for 2023 and 2024. The money received by the Golkar Party politician is thought to have reached Rp5 billion.
