TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono stated that the TNI would take a firm stance against armed criminal groups (KKB) in Papua. Yudo ensured that although the approach would be carried out humanely, the TNI would prioritize law enforcement together with the Police. "We have to be firm but still humane. Of course, we are more about advancing law enforcement. What disturbs the community, we arrest, we hand it over to the Police," said Yudo after the handover of the position (sertijab) at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday, December 20. Yudo said the Papuan people needed the support of the government and the apparatus. He emphasized that the TNI continues to strive so that social activities in Papua run safely. "The people there need our support. Many schools are said to have teachers leaving the place, we are not helping with public transportation, so that community social activities can run," said Yudo. Therefore, Yudo ensured that the TNI would continue to carry out territorial operations in Papua and assist the police in law enforcement on Cenderawasih Earth. "If law enforcement is of course we will help the police," said Yudo. Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave special directions to the TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono, regarding the armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua. Jokowi asked Yudo to be firm with the KKB. "I think the humanist approach is good, the reduction of TNI soldiers in Papua is good, but it must be firm there, KKB always acts like that, so the problem will not be resolved," said Jokowi at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 19.
