The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bogor Regency revealed the reasons for proposing to change the composition of the Electoral Region (Dapil) for the 2024 Simultaneous Elections. The proposal was submitted by the Bogor KPU to the central KPU.

"The proposal to change the composition of the electoral district and the allocation of seats for DPRD members is related to the plan to expand the West Bogor and East Bogor regions," said Head of the Bogor Regency KPU, Ummi Wahyuni in a statement, Sunday, December 18, quoted from Antara.

In the new composition of the electoral district proposed by the Bogor Regency KPU, Ciomas District was moved from electoral district 4 which includes areas of prospective West Bogor expansion to electoral district 3.

Then, the Klapaunggal District was revoked from the 1st electoral district and entered into the 2nd electoral district consisting of areas that were candidates for the division of East Bogor.

"Why was it broken down why Ciomas was transferred to electoral district 3, Klapanunggal was put into electoral district 2 because there was a letter from the Indonesian KPU regarding the potential for new expansion areas," said Ummi.

"We see that there are Ciomas who do not enter West Bogor and Klapanunggal who enter East Bogor, so we enter that option," he added.

Previously, Ummi explained that his party proposed three design options for the composition of the electoral district and the allocation of seats for members of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

"Why should we propose an electoral district for the DPRD? Because the electoral district for the province and Indonesia has become an attachment to Law (Law) number 7 of 2017, it cannot be changed again," explained Ummi.

The first draft, without changing the current composition, consists of six electoral districts: electoral districts 1 consisting of Cibinong, Citeureup, Sukaraja, Babakanmadang, and Klapanunggal with a total allocation of 10 DPRD seats. The 2nd electoral district consists of Gunungputri, Jonggol, Cileungsi, Cariu, Sukamakmur, and Tanjungsari with an allocation of 9 DPRD seats.

The 3rd electoral district consists of Ciawi, Cisarua, Megamendung, Caringin, Cijeruk, Tamansari, Cigombong with an allocation of 8 DPRD seats. The 4th electoral district consists of Ciampea, Cibungbulang, Pamijahan, Ciomas, Dramaga, and Tenjolaya with an allocation of 9 DPRD seats.

The 5th electoral district consists of Leuwiliang, Rumpin, Jasinga, Parungpanjang, Nanggung, Cigudeg, Tenjo, Sukajaya, and Leuwisadeng with the allocation of 10 DPRD seats. The 6th electoral district consists of Parung, Gunungsindur, Kemang, Bojonggede, Ciseeng, Rancabungur, and Tajurhalang with an allocation of 9 DPRD seats.

The second draft, still consists of six electoral districts, but Klapanunggal District moves to electoral district 2, thus changing the allocation of electoral district seats 1 to 9 DPRD seats and electoral district 2 to 10 DPRD seats. Then, Ciomas District moved to electoral district 3, thus changing the allocation of electoral district seats to 7 DPRD seats and electoral district 3 to 10 DPRD seats.

The third draft, by moving the Districts of Klapaunggal and Ciomas as in the second draft, and adding it to seven electoral districts. The 7th electoral district consists of Jasinga, Parungpanjang, Cigudeg, Tenjo, and Sukajaya with an allocation of 5 DPRD seats.

With the concept of increasing one electoral district in this third draft, it automatically changes the allocation of DPRD seats in several electoral districts. electoral districts 1 as many as 9 seats, electoral districts 2 as many as 10 seats, electoral districts as many as 7 seats, electoral district 5 as many as 9 seats, and electoral district 6 as many as 5 seats.

Ummi said the three designs were presented by the Bogor Regency KPU to the provincial level on 16-17 December 2022. Then, on 17-19 December 2022, the West Java Province KPU will again convey it to the central KPU.
