JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has successfully completed 16 flats for the construction workers of the State Capital (IKN) Nusantara or HPK Flats.
The Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, said that from the target of 22 HPK Flats, currently there are 16 Flats that have been built and are in the process of completing electricity and installing walls and toilets for workers.
"The construction of flats for construction workers' housing in IKN continues according to the plan that has been set. We will try to complete the construction process as soon as possible. Currently, the progress has reached 71.06 percent," said Iwan in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, December 18.
The construction of the HPK Flats has started since August 29, 2022 and is targeted to be completed by the end of January 2023. The construction process is carried out by PT. Wijaya Karya Gedung - PT. Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, KSO with a contract value of IDR 567 billion.
In the construction process for Construction Workers, added Iwan, the Ministry of PUPR applies at least three criteria for implementing development with the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) or Environment, Social and Governance (LST).
"The first is environmental or environmental by implementing lean construction and green construction, the second is social or social which aims to provide more appropriate facilities for construction workers who build IKN. The third is governance or corporate governance, namely building construction governance that is neater, healthier, efficient and effective," said Iwan.
Thus, according to Iwan, the use of modular construction technology in the construction of Construction Workers is one of the government's efforts to achieve the ESG criteria and become a prototype lean and green construction in Indonesia.
In the HPK IKN Flats complex, social facilities and public facilities such as mosques, malls, clinics, and the management representative office will also be built.
"Each flat will have a barracks-type room for workers equipped with beds and bathrooms so that workers can live comfortably and focus on working to build infrastructure in IKN Nusantara," said Iwan.
