The Bogor MUI Is Considered The Most Consistent In Carrying Out Ulama Cadre Education

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of West Java Province considers the Bogor Regency MUI as the most consistent institution in carrying out the Ulama Cadre Education program.

Chairman of the West Java MUI Education Division Professor Rosihon Anwar when attending the Ijtima Ulama and the XVI Force Ulama Cadre Education Entrepreneur (PKU) in Cibinong, Bogor, Saturday, appreciated the commitment of the Bogor Regency MUI in running the PKU program.

He also hopes that the istiqomahan of the Bogor Regency MUI in the implementation of the ulama eradication program can be imitated by other regions of MUI.

Rosihon, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, advised the alumni of the PKU MUI Bogor Regency to always be an example for the community and be able to display a moderate face of Islam.

He also believes that PKU graduates are unlikely to become intolerant, especially have radical views.

"It is impossible for these PKU alumni to become intolerant-minded, let alone become radical because the curriculum studied by these ulama cadres is about strengthening the Pancasila ideology and national insight," said Rosihon, quoting Antara, Sunday.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Bogor Regency MUI, Kiai Haji Ahmad Mukri Aji, said that the success of the PKU was the result of good synergy between the ulama and umara, namely the local government.

"This PKU alumni is expected to return to society by becoming the Khadimul ummah (people's service) and being able to practice their knowledge well, especially understanding the elements of maqashidus syariah, which include maintaining religion, protecting the soul, maintaining reason, protecting offspring, and maintaining property," said Kiai Mukri.

Until now, the Bogor Regency MUI has graduated from 16 generations of ulama cadres through the PKU program. This ulama regeneration lasts for four months every year.

The participants amounted to 50 people who passed the selection, from the district MUI envoy, Islamic boarding schools, Islamic organizations, and the Bogor Regency Government regional work unit.
