Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo shared his strategy of advancing MSMEs at the 2022 MSME Days held at the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. Ganjar was present as a resource person with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno and UGM Chancellor Prof Ova Emilia.

The white-haired governor immediately greeted hundreds of participants, consisting of MSME players from Yogyakarta and Central Java. In fact, this PDI-P politician invited two participants to take to the stage to tell stories about his experiences in struggling with the pandemic, some time ago.

From the story of the two participants, Ganjar then appreciated the efforts to get rid of the MSME actors. He also told how to pay attention to local businesses so that they can still survive.

"They are creative and innovative. Initially, the sellers of around-the-clock snacks went bankrupt due to the pandemic and had a capital of Rp. 20,000 to buy them to their neighbors. While the other, the seller of the wooden demolition house, then swerved the steering wheel to open home care," said Ganjar.

He then shared a strategy in Central Java in providing space for MSMEs to develop and progress. Among them are Lapak Ganjar and Hetero Space.

"Now there are three Hetero Spaces. In Semarang, Solo and yesterday it was just inaugurated in Banyumas. That is space for creative children, startups and MSMEs to develop their business," he said.

Meanwhile, Ganjar's stall is an effort to promote local MSMEs by utilizing millions of Instagram followers.

"I sell on Saturday and Sunday Instagram. Yes, promotions because there are five million followers," he added.

In addition, the former DPR RI revealed the need to appreciate those who have creative and innovative power. Namely with the low-interest and mentoring capital system.

"This is good, yes, some SMEs are facilitated, they have a kind of coaching clinic, and finally the hope is that they can do it on an assessment," he added.

Asked about economic conditions in 2023, Ganjar emphasized that MSMEs are a potential that needs to be encouraged.

"In what way, for example, 40 percent of the APBN and APBD must be spent on SME products, that's good. So, they are taught to enter E-Kalatog. Well, in my opinion, these assistance are important and it turns out that when they present the results, they are also good," he said.
