JAKARTA - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) will recall the Regent of the Meranti Islands Muhammad Adil next Tuesday, December 20. The summons related to protests to the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) regarding the distribution of Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH).

"The plan is that tomorrow there will be a meeting, facilitated, of course (together) related components, related ministries," said Director General of Regional Finance at the Ministry of Home Affairs Agus Fatoni at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday, December 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

This meeting is between the government including the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, with the regional government (Pemda), namely Riau Province, especially Meranti Islands Regency.

Agus stated that this meeting, which is a mediation step, will be carried out in a closed manner at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office, but the public will later be able to find out the results of the meeting.

The meeting itself was the aftermath of the Regent of Adil who submitted his protest regarding the allocation of DBH to the Ministry of Finance last week at the National Coordination Meeting on Optimizing Regional Revenue.

Adil at that time said that the DBH quota obtained by his region as an oil producer increased slightly even though the prices and oil production there continued to rise until the area became the poorest population in Riau Province.

Even on that occasion, Adil revealed his plan to sue President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the point that the ranks of the Ministry of Finance were filled by officials who were demons.

Adil's anger at the central government even made his plan to release the Meranti Islands Regency from Indonesia considering that this area is close to the Straits of Malacca and Malaysia.

Adil said that sentence because he admitted that he had tried to protest to the Ministry of Finance, but it was difficult to find and he had often sent letters to the Minister of Finance asking for an audience.

The Ministry of Finance has also given an online audience until she was also present at an event in Bandung and received an explanation from the Ministry of Finance, but she was not satisfied because according to her the event was attended by officials who were not competent.

In this case, Director General Agus explained that the central government always holds meetings with local governments, but regional representatives who attend often do not explain the results of meetings with their top brass, causing misperceptions.

"So communication does actually involve the region, it does not involve regional heads and sometimes those who come to meetings do not explain to their regions," explained Agus.

Agus also confirmed that his party had sent an invitation to the Meranti Islands Regency Government (Pemkab) regarding the meeting next week but there was no confirmation.

"I think this is a common interest, we have to come. We hope that everything can speak openly, there is no lies between us," he said.
