PPP: Ideally Caps-Cawapres KIB Combination Of External And Internal

PPP considers that ideally the presidential candidate (candidate) and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) promoted by the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) come from an external and internal combination. This solution can be taken considering that each party member of KIB wants the general chairman to be supported by KIB to run for the 2024 presidential election.

PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi or Awiek said, like his party still wanted to nominate Plt Ketum PPP Mardiono as the vice presidential candidate for KIB. Likewise, other KIB members have the same desire regarding support for the general chairman.

"If it's like PPP, we hope that Mr. Mardiono can enter the vice presidential contestation. Of course PAN hopes for the same thing, Golkar also hopes for the same thing. So, we say that KIB ideally combines externally with internal KIB so that it feels strengthened by each other," Awiek told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, quoted Friday, December 16.

However, Awiek said that the final decision to determine the presidential and vice-presidential candidates for KIB was on the consolidation between member parties. Of course, he said, the result was the best decision.

"Although we KIB encourage each party chairman to advance in the presidential election contestation, in the end, it is of course the political process that determines," said Awiek.

The secretary of the DPR PPP faction revealed that the meeting would be held again between parties, members of KIB in early 2023. At that time, apart from discussing the development of the coalition, KIB would also approach other parties.

"Last night we met, had light chats between PAN, PPP and Golkar. There will be a kind of agreement later at the beginning of the year we will make activities again. Update the tasks given to each coalition coordinator who wants to explore coalitions with other parties, including PPP, are also close to other parties and also figures," he concluded.
