MALANG - The Malang Resort Police inspected the authenticity of a Work Order (SPK) for the demolition of facilities at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, which was carried out by several people without permission.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Malang Police, Iptu Wahyu Rizki Saputra, said that his party would check the authenticity of the SPK which was shown by the person in charge of dismantling the Kanjuruhan Stadium facility from CV AJT.

"We will conduct an examination of the PT which is said to have issued the SPK. We will check its authenticity, whether it was actually issued by the PT", he said as reported by ANTARA on Wednesday, December 14.

Wahyu explained, Previously CV AJT stated that the demolition of the facilities at the Kanjuruhan Stadium was carried out because they had received an SPK from one of the existing PTs.

The police are currently still conducting in-depth investigations regarding the criminal case of dismantling the Kanjuruhan Stadium facility without a permit. 15 witnesses have been examined.

"Nine people from the Malang Regency Youth and Sports Service and five others were workers who carried out the demolition. Apart from that, we have also inspected CV AJT", he said.

Soon, Malang Police investigators will also coordinate with criminal experts to be questioned as additional evidence in the case. He also asked the public not to be provoked by irresponsible issues.

"It is hoped that the community will not be provoked by issues linking this criminal case to the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. The community needs to be aware of efforts to spread unrest and disinformation that have been circulating recently", he said.

Previously, there was a demolition of the Kanjuruhan Stadium assets by several people on 28 November 2022. The guardrail between the stands and the field was torn down using welding equipment, and two paving block areas near the evacuation gate were also dismantled. As a result of the demolition without a permit, it is estimated that the value of the loss reached IDR 59 million.

Meanwhile, if the perpetrators are proven to have committed an offense, they will be charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 406 of the Criminal Code, namely jointly committing violence against goods or destroying goods, with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
