Operational throughout the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD) in Puncak Regency was temporarily closed due to the death of one of the banking service employees who was shot dead by an armed criminal group (KKB).

BPD Papua Operations Director Isak Wopari said the closure was carried out at the Ilaga, Beoga and Sinak branches. All BPBD Papua employees were withdrawn until there was a security guarantee from the Puncak Regency Government. "As a result of the shooting of BPD Papua employees in Sinak, we have attracted all employees and closed offices for an indefinite time," Wopari said in Jayapura, Papua, Wednesday, December 14, quoted from Antara.

Regarding the shooting of employees, said Wopari, all ranks of BPD Papua expressed their deep sorrow and hoped that no more employees would become victims. From the reports received, a Papuan BPD employee named Darius Yumame was shot dead on Tuesday, December 13 morning.

The victim was shot while trying to go to an office located around the Sinak Market area, Puncak Regency. The victim's body is currently still being buried in Timika and scheduled for Thursday, December 15 to be flown to Sorong, West Papua. It is planned that the body will be buried in his hometown in Maybrat.
