General Yudo Margono's Programs After Becoming TNI Commander, Replace General Andika

YOGYAKARTA - TNI Admiral Yudo Margono was officially appointed Commander of the TNI to replace General Andika Perkasa who is approaching retirement. The appointment was made by the DPR in the 12th plenary session of the second trial period in 2022 which was held on Tuesday, December 13.

Puan Maharani, the Speaker of the DPR, chaired the meeting which was attended by 356 members of parliament. All session participants heard the Commission I DPR report regarding the results of the fit and proper test for the candidate for the TNI Commander.

Puan asked all session participants for approval of the appointment of Admiral Yudo Margono as TNI Commander. All participants of the trial agreed to the same agreement.

Previously, Admiral Yudo Margono's candidacy as TNI Commander had been approved by Commission I of the DPR. The decision was made after listening to Yudo Margono's vision and mission presentation in the fit and proper test at Commission I of the DPR on December 2.

In the fit and proper test at Commission I of the DPR, Yudo Margono conveyed his vision if he was elected Commander of the TNI. He said he wanted to realize a patriot TNI or defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition, Yudo Margono also conveyed four priority programs that he would run to pursue this vision. The four programs include accelerating the development of human resources, increasing the operational readiness of the TNI unit, strengthening the implementation of the combined concept through the TNI Kopgab, bureaucratic reform and leather in the TNI.

In the first program, Yudo Margono said he would accelerate the development of human resources that excel in every assignment, based on professionalism and a strong soul. Yudo wants to prioritize the development of human resources in the future.

"Because this is the basic capital for the development of the TNI," said Yudo.

The second program that will be carried out by Yudo Margono is to increase the operational readiness of the TNI unit, both personnel and defense equipment. This step is important to take to increase high preparedness and ready to be moved at any time as needed.

Strengthening the Implementation of the Joint Concept

Yudo Margono's third program is to strengthen the implementation of the combined concept that has been actualized through the formation of the TNI Kopgab.

Meanwhile, the fourth program is to strengthen the implementation of bureaucratic reform and culture within the TNI to support all tasks and responsibilities of the TNI in upholding the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

At the end of last November, President Jokowi only proposed one candidate for TNI commander to the DPR, namely Admiral Yudo Margono. Furthermore, Admiral Yudo Margono will be sworn in by President Jokowi to replace the TNI Commander General Angkasa.

Those are the programs of Commander Yudo Margono who is currently elected to replace General Andika as TNI Commander. He will ensure the neutrality of the TNI in facing the 2024 General Election.
