JABAR - Sukabumi-Palabuhanratu traffic flows and vice versa have been diverted. Landslides have just occurred in Tonjong Village, Palabuhanratu District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java (West Java).

Head of the Law Enforcement Unit (Gakkum) of the Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) Ipda M Yanuar Fajar said road users were directed to use the Cikidang alternative route.

"Until 11.30 WIB on Tuesday, the main road access buried by landslides cannot be passed by various types of motorized vehicles," he said in Sukabumi, West Java (West Java), Tuesday, December 13.

According to Yanuar, to divert the vehicle, his party has placed personnel at several points such as Simpang Ratu, Cibadak District, Cikidang Intersection (alternative entrance to Cikidang), CIkempang Simpang in Cikembar District and Simpang Bagbagan in Palabuhanratu District.

The temporary diversion of traffic flow aims to prevent a buildup of vehicles on the main Sukabumi-Palabuhanratu route that could disrupt the process of evacuating landslide material such as soil, stones and trees that closed the road, precisely between Pasirsureun Village and Cikananga Village, Tonjong Village, Palabuhanratu District.

He believes that this road access can be passed by vehicles again in the not too distant future, because the majority of the landslide material that blocked the road has been evacuated.

According to him, the evacuation process was hampered because heavy equipment sent down by the Sukabumi Regency Public Works Service (DPU) was damaged.

However, currently the evacuation has resumed after heavy equipment from Kodim 0622 Sukabumi Regency was deployed to the landslide location. However, he could not confirm when this road access could be reopened.

"Actually, one route was able to be passed by vehicles, but because it interfered with the evacuation process, we closed it again until all the landslide material was completely evacuated," he added.

Yanuar appealed to motorists from Sukabumi who want to go to Palabuhanratu or vice versa to use this main route to be careful because, many points are prone to landslides and fallen trees.
