JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has added 82 quotas for medical scholarships and study programs in 2023.
This is stated in Circular Number HK.02.02/F/2812/2022 concerning Recruitment of the Medical Education Assistance Program and Fellowship of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2023.
The Director General of Health Workers at the Ministry of Health, Arianti Anaya, said that the additional quota was carried out to equalize specific health services in government-owned health care facilities (fasyankes), especially in eastern Indonesia and underdeveloped areas and islands (DTPK).
As is known, the eastern region and DTPK still need specialist health workers such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, uronefrology, as well as maternal and child health (KIA).
"Previously, we only provided scholarship quotas for 47 specialist and subspecialist study programs, in 2023, plus 82 study programs, including levies and primary service specialists," said Arianti in a written statement, quoted Monday, December 12.
In detail, the 82 additional programs consist of 51 study programs for specialist doctors and subspecialists, 29 allowances and 2 primary service medical specialists.
This program is financed from the budget allocation of the Directorate General of Health Workers and given after the recipient has been designated as a scholarship recipient since January 2023.
"Hopefully, with the expansion and addition of this scholarship quota, it can meet the shortage of health workers while strengthening health services in all corners of the country," said Arianti.
Arianti asked the provincial health offices to regencies/cities as well as the TNI and Polri to intensify socialization and education regarding this recruitment in the channels they have so that more and more people register.
