Ministry Of Health Adds Medical Scholarship Quota In 82 Study Programs In 2023

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia has added quotas for medical scholarships and "fellowship" (special education) in as many as 82 study programs (produles) in 2023.

The addition of the quota, said the Director General of Health Workers at the Ministry of Health, Arianti Anaya, aims to fulfill and equalize specialization services such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, uro-nephrology and Maternal and Child Health (KIA) in all government-owned health service facilities, especially in Eastern Indonesia and remote areas bordering the archipelago (DTPK).

"Previously, we only provided scholarship quotas for 47 specialist and subspecialist medical study programs, in 2023, plus 82 study programs, including levies and primary service specialists," he said at a media briefing received by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday 12 December.

He detailed that the 82 study programs consisted of 51 study programs for specialist doctors and subspecialists, 29 policies, and two primary service medical specialists. This amount is adjusted to the needs.

"Hopefully, with the expansion and addition of this scholarship quota, it can meet the shortage of health workers while strengthening health services in all corners of the country," he said.

The additional quota is contained in Circular Number HK.02.02/F/2812/2022 concerning Recruitment of the Medical Education Assistance Program and Fellowship of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2023.

Arianti hopes that the provincial health offices to regencies/cities as well as the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) can intensify socialization and education regarding these recruitments on information channel channels so that more and more people register.

After attending education in the doctor's educational assistance program (bandikdok) and wingship, the scholarship recipients will be placed in the proposing health care facility.

For specialist-subspecialist doctors, he said, they will be placed in provincial/district/city regional hospitals, health care facilities of the Ministry of Health, and other ministries/agencies.

Primary service doctors are placed at the UPT of the Ministry of Health and regional provincial/district/city community health centers. Meanwhile, the followingship is placed in the UPT of the Ministry of Health and provincial/district/city regional hospitals.
