JAKARTA - Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin ensured that the health services provided to mothers and children in Solo, Central Java went well and evenly.

"Health services focused on prevention are the transformation of health in the first pillar, namely the transformation of primary services. This transformation is in Puskesmas and Posyandu," said the Minister of Health in a statement, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 11.

During a visit to Posyandu and the Gilingan Health Center in Solo on Saturday, the Minister of Health directly monitored 32 children consisting of six babies and 26 toddlers in Posyandu.

Posyandu, which was visited by Minister of Health Budi, is located in the multipurpose building of Gilingan Village, Banjarsari District, Surakarta City. Meanwhile, the selected Puskesmas is the Gilingan Health Center.

When monitoring took place, Minister of Health Budi also paid attention to weight and height measurements, head circumference, and examination of children who were used as preventive measures by the government to carry out early detection of various diseases.

For children who have finished following the measurements, each is given nutritious food in the form of chicken meat and other carbohydrate foods.

"Women are enthusiastic about continuing to provide services at Posyandu. This is an effort so that our children are healthy, and can be detected if children are malnourished or have other health problems," he said.

Then proceed to the Gilingan Health Center which oversees 32 elderly Posyandu and 35 child posyandu. The results of the measurements and health checks of children and the elderly from Posyandu were immediately followed up by the Puskesmas with education, further health checks, and providing nutritious food for children.

A number of services at the Gilingan Health Center include the health of mothers and children, family planning, immunization, general examination services, the elderly over 59 years old, dental and oral health, people's disabilities, KIA, immunization, smoking stop clinic, Integrated Care for Young Baby Management (MTBM) and Integrated Management of Hospital Toddlers (MTBS), general poly, policing, as well as counseling and HIV testing.

Other available services are in the form of laboratories for hematology checks, routine urine tests, blood chemical examinations for sugar, cholesterol, gout, HDL, LDL, SGOT, SGPT, urea, creatine, total protein, albumin, total bilirubin.

Budi said the government would focus health services on preventive prevention or promotive, through the first pillar of health transformation related to primary services.

The Ministry of Health itself is also revitalizing Posyandu as a form of prevention and not treatment.

"There are around 12 thousand Puskesmas spread across all parts of Indonesia. There are also a number of programs that will be carried out including rearranging the network of health care facilities, such as the revitalization of Posyandu to be more formal," he said.
