Moeldoko: Skills Increase And Economy Raised After Following The Pre-Employment Card Program

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko met with eleven alumni of the Pre-Employment Card participants. Moeldoko listened to their success stories after receiving capital assistance from the Pre-Work Card to survive the pandemic.

In the Pre-Employment Card Program, he took training on 'coaching skills' in accordance with his field of work as well as 'Guidelines for a healthy lifestyle for fitness practitioners' which according to him people really needed to improve endurance and mental health.

Hearing the success stories of the Pre-Work Card recipients, Moeldoko also appreciated the success rate of the program that has only been running this month. Moreover, Moeldoko realizes, the Pre-Work Card program is not an easy thing to implement, especially in a short time and in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"But because the results are encouraging, I hope this program can continue and continue to produce a higher level of satisfaction from the recipients," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoko also hopes that the stories from the alumni of the Pre-Work Card program can inspire other young people to keep their enthusiasm for work amid the Covid-19 pandemic. He also said that the Pre-Work Card program is an opportunity provided by the Government that can change people's lives to get out of poverty.

"So, take advantage of this opportunity. Don't just complain, as long as you have enthusiasm, then enthusiasm is part of the struggle, ”explained Moeldoko.

On the same occasion, Executive Director of Implementing Pre-employment Card Management, Denni Puspa Purbasari, explained that the Pre-Employment Card is an inclusive program because it has succeeded in embracing various groups.

Denni detailed, Pre-employment Card recipients consisted of women (44 percent), over 55 years of age (4 percent), primary-junior high school education (19 percent), unemployed (89 percent), informal workers (79 percent of those who worked), have taken training / courses (84 percent), frontier-outermost-disadvantaged areas (Nias, Mentawai, Sabu Rijua, Aru, Tojo Una-una, Taliabu, Tambrau, Lanny Jaya etc.), former Indonesian Migrant Workers (1.8 percent) , have not been served by formal financial services (17 percent), as well as persons with disabilities (5.1 percent).

During the April-November 2020 period, there were more than 43 million applicants for the Pre-Employment Card from 514 Regencies / Cities from 34 provinces.

"These data show that the Pre-Employment Card program reaches all levels of society, including those who have not had access to training or improve skills so far. More than 1,600 trainings provided by 150 training institutions on 7 digital platforms can be easily accessed by participants from Aceh to Papua.
