Surya Paloh Is Treating In Germany, Absen Attends The Men's Marriage Of Bungsu Jokowi Kaesang With Erina

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, is certain to not attend the wedding series of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, which will be held on Saturday, December 10, tomorrow.

It is known that the marriage contract procession of Kaesang Pangarep and Erina Gudono will be held at the Attorney General Hall of Kedaton Ambarrukmo, Yogjakarta, Saturday, December 8. The day after, Sunday, December 11, the procession of their marriage ceremony will take place in Loji Gandrung, Solo, Central Java. The chairman of the NasDem Party's Media and Public Communication Division, Charles Meikyansah, explained that Surya Paloh would be absent from the happy event because he was in Germany for treatment. Charles revealed that Surya Paloh's medical agenda to Germany had been scheduled since last year.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Surya could not attend to fulfill the invitation because he was receiving treatment which had been scheduled from last year to Germany," Charles said in a written statement received, Friday, December 9.

However, Charles said, Surya Paloh had written to President Jokowi about his absence. The general chairman also congratulated Jokowi on the marriage of Kaesang and Erina.

"Mr. Surya sent a letter to Mr. Jokowi and congratulated the two brides and extended family of President Jokowi," he said. "Of course Mr. Surya is happy and wishes the best for the newlyweds," he added. This member of Commission XI of the DPR also explained that Surya Paloh had been abroad from November 24, 2022 until early January 2023. Charles added that in fact Surya Paloh really hoped to be present at the special moment of President Jokowi's youngest son.

"Pak Surya Paloh has received invitations to the Kaesang and Erina reception some time ago, but was unable to attend," added Charles.
