JAKARTA - A series of suspicious packages sent to the Ukrainian Embassy all have car dealers' addresses in Germany, and are usually sent from the post office without video surveillance, Ukraine's Foreign Minister said on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Facebook that some 31 Ukrainian missions in 15 countries had received such packages in what he called "the terror campaign against Ukrainian diplomats".
Ukraine said last week "blood packages" containing animal eyes had been sent to several of its missions in Europe, as soon as a letter bomb was detonated at its embassy in Spain. Meanwhile, similar bombs aimed at other recipients were successfully tamed, including targeting the Spanish prime minister.
"All envelopes have the same sender address: Tesla car dealer in Sindelfingen City, Germany. Usually, deliveries are made from post offices that are not equipped with video surveillance systems," wrote Foreign Minister Kuleba, quoted by Reuters December 8.
"Criminals also take steps not to leave their DNA traces on the package. This, in particular, shows a professional level of implementation."
Separately, German authorities and Tesla electric car maker dealers in Sindelfingen in southern Germany did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Reuters.
Earlier, Spanish police managed to intercept three envelopes containing animal eyes aimed at the Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid, as well as its consulates in Barcelona and Malaga on Monday this week.
