KPK Security Personnel Use Bulletproof Vests After the Suicide Bombing at the Astanaanyar Police

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) requires security officers guarding the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, to wear bulletproof vests and helmets.

This policy was taken after the suicide bombing at the Astanaanyar Police, Bandung today, Wednesday, December 7.

"Yes (mandatory use of bulletproof vests and helmets, ed) as a preventive measure by personnel and vital object security standards within the KPK," said Head of KPK Reporting Section Ali Fikri to VOI, Wednesday, December 7.

From VOI monitoring, several officers guarding the entrances and exits of this building are required to wear black bulletproof vests. They are also required to wear head protection in the form of a helmet.

They are also on standby and monitoring the conditions around the building after the suicide bombing at the police station.

As previously reported, a bomb explosion suspected of being a suicide occurred at the Astanaanyar Police Office, Bandung City, West Java, Wednesday, December 7, around 08.30 WIB.

As a result of the incident, one police officer died. While seven others were injured.

The location where the bomb occurred has now been installed with a police line. Residents were asked to stay away from the Astanaanyar Police. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the site of the explosion.
