Only 5-10 Of The 318 Villages In Jayawijaya Papua Reported The Use Of Village Funds, Regency Government Asked For Assistance

JAYAWIJAYA - The Jayawijaya Regency Government in Papua Mountains Province asked village assistant officers to help accelerate the reporting of the use of second-stage village funds in 318 villages/villages in its area. The goal is that the government can immediately distribute third-stage village funds. Acting Head of the Jayawijaya Regency Village Community Empowerment Service, Lepinus Gombo, said that most villages had not submitted reports on the use of second-stage village funds so that the government had not been able to distribute further stage village funds. "We ask the village assistant to direct the village head to immediately compile the requested report so that we can include it in the application as a report to the central government," he said in Wamena, Antara, Tuesday, December 6. He said that the second phase of the village fund use report and the village development work plan for 2023 from all villages should have been submitted to the government. However, only a small part of the 328 villages in Jayawijaya have submitted the requirements for the third phase of village funds disbursement which includes reports on the use of village funds. "In Jayawijaya, only five to 10 villages have included absolute requirements for disbursement," he said. Lepinus said that the village government is expected to use village funds to build businesses that can bring economic benefits in the long term for residents.
