CHARGE Of Election Victory, Four KPU Officials Fired By Kenyan President

JAKARTA - Kenyan President William Ruto on Friday, December 2, dismissed four election commission commissioners who sued his victory in August. The four commissioners of the Kenyan Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissioner (IEBC) are Deputy Head Juliana Cherera and three other IEBC officials.

Through a notification, Ruto said he made the decision "after receiving and considering a petition of the National Assembly and in the implementation of the prerogative given to the Head of State and Government under Article 251 of the Constitution."

Quoted from ANTARA, Ruto also formed a court chaired by High Judge Aggrey Muchelule to investigate the commissioners and report any violations of the constitution or "heavy violations" that they may have committed.

This summer, the four of them brought to justice for the August 9 election which was won by Ruto. They say the election results are against math and logic.

The National Assembly on Thursday decided to make a committee report proposing the dismissal of the four commissioners.

According to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, the four commissioners have pushed for a re-election but failed. Their efforts are considered unconstitutional, illegal and tantamount to undermine the sovereign Law and will of the Kenyan people.
